Summer of Alfresco Code

If there was any doubt about whether Alfresco made the right move to GPL and eliminating the attribution clause, it was further dispelled when Google director of Google's Open Source Office, Chris DiBona, said that he would welcome Alfresco to apply for the Google Summer of Code, the annual coding program that Google sponsors for students to contribute to open source projects.

Chris said that Google was not interested in supporting open source systems that had attribution clauses. Only systems with OSI-approved licenses need apply.

 

Let us know if you are interested in participating.

BTW, activity on the forums and wiki, which were already strong, have picked up considerably since our move to GPL.
