I believe this will become incredibly simplified to the point of being usable by ordinary people. This is the reason that we implemented the OpenSearch protocol. All search engines are using it and search is becoming the primary metaphor for integrating and virtualizing disparate sources of information.

Very interesting reading. It would be interesting to get your opinion on virtual content repositories, doing "storage virtualization" in the middleware layer to enable unified management and access of structured (data) as well as unstructured content. Do you believe in that?
